A flavorful homemade cheese spread with bird’s eye pepper, thyme, and poppy seeds—great on sandwiches or with ripe summer tomatoes.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 2 green onions, finely minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
  • 2 teaspoons fresh Italian parsley, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
  • 1 bird’s eye pepper, seeded and minced
  • salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Thoroughly mix all ingredients in a bowl or food processor.
  2. Refrigerate until firm to blend flavors. Serve in a crock or shaped on a platter.

Notes

Makes a great substitute for butter or mayonnaise on a sandwich and is especially good with ripe summer tomatoes.
