Cheesy, buttery biscuits flavored with fresh garlic, chives, savory, and a hint of cayenne for a rich and aromatic treat.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ pound salted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 pound double Gloucester or sharp cheddar cheese (grated and room temperature)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives (chopped)
  • 3 tablespoons fresh savory (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 ½ cups white flour
  • 2 cups walnut or pecan pieces (optional)

Instructions
 

  1. Blend butter and cheese together using a food processor or hand mixer.
  2. Add garlic, chives, savory, and pepper, mixing thoroughly.
  3. Slowly add the flour until you have a stiff dough.
  4. Divide dough into portions and roll out one portion at a time to ¼-inch thickness on a lightly floured board.
  5. Cut into rounds or use a decorative cookie cutter. Use a fork to make a crisscross pattern on each biscuit.
  6. Place on a baking sheet in a preheated 375°F oven for about 10–12 minutes until slightly golden.
  7. Cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for several weeks or freeze for longer storage.
