Ingredients
½poundsalted butter(2 sticks)
1pounddouble Gloucester or sharp cheddar cheese(grated and room temperature)
4clovesgarlic(minced)
1tablespoonfresh chives(chopped)
3tablespoonsfresh savory(chopped)
1teaspooncayenne pepper
2 ½cupswhite flour
2cupswalnut or pecan pieces(optional)
Instructions
Blend butter and cheese together using a food processor or hand mixer.
Add garlic, chives, savory, and pepper, mixing thoroughly.
Slowly add the flour until you have a stiff dough.
Divide dough into portions and roll out one portion at a time to ¼-inch thickness on a lightly floured board.
Cut into rounds or use a decorative cookie cutter. Use a fork to make a crisscross pattern on each biscuit.
Place on a baking sheet in a preheated 375°F oven for about 10–12 minutes until slightly golden.
Cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for several weeks or freeze for longer storage.
