Rose Hip Liqueur

A delicate liqueur infused with aniseed and rose hips for a subtle herbal sweetness.

Ingredients

  

  • 1 teaspoon aniseed
  • 12 ounces vodka
  • 3 tablespoons crushed fresh rose hips (or 1 tablespoon dried)
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ cup sugar

Instructions

 

  1. Place aniseed in a small glass bottle. Add vodka and steep for 1 week.
  2. Strain out aniseed, add rose hips, and steep for 4 weeks.
  3. Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan. Boil, then simmer 5 minutes. Cool.
  4. Filter vodka through a damp coffee filter and pour into a sterilized bottle.
  5. Add sugar syrup and allow to mellow for at least 2 weeks.
