Orange Pineapple Cooler with Sweet Herbs

A refreshing citrus and pineapple beverage infused with rose geranium and other sweet herbs for a fragrant, cooling drink.

Ingredients

  

  • 6 cups orange juice
  • 1 can pineapple juice (46 ounces)
  • ¼ cup sugar (more or less as needed)
  • 12-20 branches rose geranium and other sweet herbs (6–8 inch long branches with flowers, leaves, tender stems)
  • 2-3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • sprigs of fresh herb and flower (to garnish)

Instructions

 

  1. Place juices and sugar in a large glass or plastic container, stirring to dissolve sugar.
  2. Twist and break branches of herbs to release flavor; add to juices, stirring well.
  3. Cover and let stand overnight to flavor.
  4. Lift out herbs, pressing hard to extract liquids.
  5. Serve immediately over ice or blend with crushed ice to a slushy consistency.

Notes

Yield: 12 cups liquid, without ice.
