Ingredients

  

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups lemongrass (bottom portions), cut into 1-inch pieces (or 2 cups lemon verbena or orange mint, chopped)

Instructions

 

  1. Combine water and sugar in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, add lemongrass, and simmer 10 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and steep 30–60 minutes. Strain and bottle; refrigerate.

Notes

Delicious over fruit, ice cream or cake, or stirred into tea, lemonade, or dry white wine.
