Ingredients

  

  • 6 cups sugar
  • 2 quarts crushed elderberries
  • ¼ cup white vinegar

Instructions

 

  1. Combine berries, vinegar, and sugar in a large saucepan. Bring slowly to a boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Cook rapidly until the mixture thickens, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
  3. Pour the jam, boiling hot, into sterilized jars. Adjust caps and seal tightly.
