Cardamom Apples with Bay Leaf Cream

Warm cardamom-spiced apples paired with softly infused bay leaf cream.

Ingredients

  

  • apples, sliced
  • sugar or honey
  • ground cardamom (or lightly crushed pods)
  • heavy cream
  • 2–3 leaf bay leaves

Instructions

 

  1. Simmer apples with a little sugar and cardamom until tender.
  2. Gently warm cream with bay leaves; steep 20–30 minutes and strain.
  3. Serve warm apples with bay-infused cream spooned over.

Notes

Keep cream just below a simmer to avoid curdling; adjust sweetness to taste.
