
Old-Fashioned Horehound Hard Candy
Classic hard candy made by simmering a strong horehound infusion with sugar and corn syrup, cooking to hard-crack stage, then cooling and breaking into pieces.
Instructions

Brew a strong horehound tea and strain.

Combine horehound tea, sugar, and corn syrup in a heavy saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves, then cook without stirring to hard-crack stage.

Pour onto a lightly greased pan or a surface dusted with powdered sugar. Cool slightly and score, or cool completely and break into pieces.

Store in an airtight container.
