Ingredients
  

  • cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 ⅓ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup walnuts (chopped fine)
  • 1 ½ tablespoons cinnamon (for rolling mixture)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for rolling mixture)

Instructions
 

  1. Cream butter and gradually add 1 cup sugar. Beat in vanilla and egg.
  2. Sift flour with baking powder and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Add to egg mixture and blend well. Chill for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine walnuts, cinnamon, and sugar. Roll chilled dough into walnut-sized balls and coat in the sugar mixture.
  4. Place cookies on greased and floured baking sheets about 3 inches apart. Bake about 12 minutes. Cool on racks.
