Harvest Mashed Potatoes
Comforting mashed potatoes with a mix of red and sweet potatoes enriched with butter, milk, sour cream, Parmesan, horseradish, and warm spices.

Ingredients

red potatoes (about 2 pounds)
(peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces)

sweet potatoes (about 1 pounds)
(peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces)

butter

milk, plus more if needed

sour cream

freshly grated Parmesan cheese

prepared horseradish

black pepper

ground cinnamon

freshly grated nutmeg
Instructions
Boil the red and sweet potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and transfer to a large bowl.
Add butter, milk, sour cream, Parmesan, horseradish, salt, pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Mash with a potato masher until smooth but still slightly textured. For whipped potatoes, add a little more milk and butter and whip with an electric mixer. Adjust seasoning and top with a bit of butter, if desired.
