Basil Pineapple Cooler
A tropical cooler of orange and pineapple juices infused with fresh basil.

Ingredients

cups
fresh or reconstituted frozen orange juice
1
46-ouonce can
pineapple juice
1/4–1/2
cup
sugar
(to taste)
2–3
tablespoons
fresh lemon juice
(optional)
fresh basil branches (cinnamon, clove, lemon, sweet Thai and/or sweet), no woody stems
Instructions
Combine juices and sugar in a non-reactive container; stir to dissolve. Add lemon juice if desired.
Lightly bruise basil; add to container to fill. Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours or overnight.
Strain, pressing basil; adjust sweetness. Serve over ice (optional: puree with ice or add soda for fizz).
