Ingredients
2cupswater
2cupssugar
6-8sprigsfresh peppermint, 3-4 inches long
1tablespoonlemon, lime, or orange zest (optional)
Instructions
Bring sugar and water to a boil in a small pot. Simmer until sugar is dissolved, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat.
Add mint sprigs and citrus zest. Cover and steep for 30 minutes.
Strain and chill. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
